Will It Fit? The Massage Chair Doorway, Clearance, and Room Size Guide

Kyota Genki M380, Synca JP1100, and Infinity Evolution massage chairs side by side

A massage chair is furniture first. Before rollers or heat settings can matter, the chair has to pass through your door, survive the hallway turn, and land somewhere it can recline all the way back. Three tape-measure numbers settle it: the narrowest doorway on the delivery path, the tightest turn along the way, and the wall where the chair will live. This guide gives you the exact figures for every chair we carry so you can check all three before you order.

Start at the door

Assembled widths in our catalog run from 30 inches on the Rocker Tech Sensation and Synca JP1100 up to 36 inches on the Infinity IT-8500 Plus and Smart Chair X3. Most interior doorways in US homes measure 28 to 32 inches. Front doors usually measure 36. So the door that matters is rarely the front door. It is the bedroom, office, or basement door the chair passes on the way to its spot.

Chairs arrive boxed rather than assembled, and a box tips and pivots in ways a finished chair cannot, so a listed width above your door measurement does not automatically rule a model out. If any doorway on the path measures under 33 inches, call or text us at 806-547-1998 with the measurement and the model. We will check the shipping dimensions before you commit.

The path matters as much as the door

A straight shot through a 32-inch door is easy. A 30-inch door at the end of a 36-inch hallway, with a turn, is a different job. Walk the route from your entry to the chair's spot and note every turn, stair, and landing.

Weight decides how hard that route is. The Synca JP1100 weighs 171 pounds, unusually light for a full-size 4D chair. The Infinity Luminary Syner-D weighs 364. White glove delivery from our delivery partner handles the move either way, including stairs and placement in the room you choose. The number matters later, when you repaint the room or move house. A 200-pound chair is a two-person job. A 360-pound chair is a crew.

Plan the room around the recline, not the upright footprint

The number printed largest on most spec sheets is the upright length. Ignore it. A massage chair spends its working life reclined, and reclined length plus required wall clearance is the real footprint. In our catalog that ranges from the Rocker Tech Sensation at 69 inches reclined to the Infinity Evolution and Kyota Kansha M878 at 80.

Wall clearance is where space-saver designs earn their keep. The Kyota models we carry, the Genki M380, Yugana M780, Yutaka M898, and Kansha M878, each need just 2 inches behind the backrest. The Synca JP1100 needs 19.5 inches, the most in our lineup, so give it a generous corner. One more number worth knowing: the JP1100 stands only 29.15 inches tall when reclined, low enough to sit under most windowsills.

Every chair we carry, measured

All figures come from each model's published spec sheet, which you will also find on the product page. A dash means the manufacturer does not publish that figure.

Rocker Tech Sensation 4D 30" 69" 6" 200 lbs
Synca JP1100 30" 78.75" 19.5" 171 lbs

Infinity Smart Chair X3 36" 74" — 286 lbs

The same dimensions apply to our certified pre-owned chairs. A CPO Evolution or Yutaka is the identical model, factory inspected, at well under the new price, so your measurements carry over unchanged.

Will it fit you, not just the room

Each chair is built for a user height range, and the roller track simply will not reach right if you fall outside it. The Yugana M780 fits the widest range of smaller users, starting at 4'8". The Genki M380 starts at 4'10". At the other end, the Infinity Evolution and Kansha M878 fit users up to 6'9" per their spec sheets, which makes them the picks in our Big & Tall collection.

Max user weight is 300 pounds across most of the catalog. Two exceptions: the Inner Balance Ji is rated to 285 and the Rocker Tech Sensation to 265.

The 60-second worksheet

Measure the narrowest door on the path and compare it against the width column above. Measure your wall and check it against reclined length plus wall clearance. Check your height and weight against the model's rating. If every number clears, order. If one is close, call or text 806-547-1998 with your measurements and we will tell you whether your model fits or which one does.

And if the tape measure lied to you anyway, every chair ships free in the contiguous US and carries a 60-day money-back guarantee, so a chair that truly does not fit your space goes back.
